Since August 2012, Alice has been working with London City Mission as an outreach worker at a cafe they run in East London, with the specific role of engaging more with the Bangladeshi community that makes up such a large percentage of the population in their catchment area. The cafe also runs a variety of different classes some of which Alice will be helping to run as well as doing home visits.
Alice is a qualified piano & violin teacher. She spent the year 1994-5 in Bristol on a School of Frontier Missions, with Youth With A Mission, after which she left her home town of Canterbury, Kent, to live and work with the Church in N. India for two years.
On returning to the UK Alice went to All Nations Christian College from 1998-2000, during which time she had a placement at Christchurch Spitalfields, E. London. She was invited by the Church to stay and work as a Community Worker with the Bangladeshi Community, which she did from 2000 until 2011. She then had two temporary jobs part time jobs with two local churches, one as a youth worker working mainly with Bangladeshi teenage girls and one running a homework club.
