Igniting the Church to be like Jesus and change the world

Deniz Carey

2013 DenizDeniz came to the UK as an overseas student from Turkey in 1983 and became a Christian through Nick and Grace's ministry amongst the students at Wye College, Kent.

She settled back in the UK in 1989 and was an active member of Ichthus Christian Fellowship, in South East London, for many years. Deniz did the July Project, an intensive evangelism training programme, and NETWORK, a year's church planting and evangelism course designed to equip people for Christian ministry. She was a part of the leadership team within her local congregation and she led house groups, youth people's groups, Alpha courses and worked within the local community in a pastoral capacity.

Deniz now lives in Plymouth and works for the Plymouth Methodist Mission Circuit as a Children and Family Worker.  She worships at Plymouth Methodist Central Hall and runs a community centre connected to the Circuit, in Keyham.  The centre is open throughout the week and offers various community based activities and social groups to the neighbourhood.

Deniz is currently working with a group from her church to plant a cafe church based in the community centre, in September 2012.  She has also completed the Methodist Local Preacher’s training and preaches at her church and travels to Methodist churches in Plymouth, and some parts of Devon and Cornwall on preaching appointments. Deniz has two daughters, Karmel and Beth.

Please pray for strength and unity and protection within the church planting team in Keyham.

Please pray against opposition to Christianity and a hunger for Jesus in Keyham.

Please for a continuous guidance and outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Keyham.
